Jackson Reynolds is excited to serve this year as Vicar at Messiah Lutheran Church. This past spring, he graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ, with his Master of Divinity (MDiv), where he focused on Biblical Studies and also earned concentrations in Lutheran Studies and Theology, Ecology, and Faith Formation.
While in Seminary, Jackson worked many jobs such as teaching assistant, research assistant, Greek tutor, chapel sexton, and team taught a course on the Bible, Identity, and Vocation. Outside of the seminary “bubble,” Jackson worked for a year at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Ewing, NJ, and spent a summer as a hospital chaplain in Des Moines, IA. In the past, Jackson spent many summers working in various positions at a Lutheran Bible camp.
Originally from Iowa, Jackson graduated from Cedar Falls High School. He then attended Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, graduating in 2020 with his Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Religion and minoring in Leadership. During the 2020-2021 school year, he attended Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA, for Lutheran ordination requirements for candidacy in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Vicar Jackson has a plethora of interests. He loves to stay active, whether it be running, walking, or hot yoga (Jackson is currently in training to become a yoga instructor). He also loves card games, board games, and video games. He enjoys musical activities such as singing or playing the guitar or ukulele. Other interests include trivia, anime, going to concerts or shows, traveling, and, of course, reading, writing, and talking about theology.
