Worship Assistants...
The role of the worship assistant is to assist the presiding minister in leading the worship service. This can include anything from leading the prayers, reading the word of God, assisting in the distribution of the communion elements, lighting the candles on the altar, or singing the liturgy. This is all done in an attitude of praise and thanksgiving to God and service to our congregation.
Assisting Minister-Is a member of the congregation who provides leadership during specific parts of the worship service and assists the presiding minister with communion preparation and distribution, leads prayers and dismissal.
Distribution Assistant-Is a member of the congregation who assists the presiding minister with communion preparation and distribution.
Lector-Is a member of the congregation who reads Holy Scripture during the church service.
Cantor-Is a singer who leads the congregation in the singing of the liturgy or other hymns we have throughout the service.
Acolyte-Is a youth within our congregation who performs liturgical duties such as lighting altar candles.
