Messiah Lutheran Church is having a meet and greet for Vicar Jackson Reynolds on Sunday, August 18, following worship.  Vicar Jackson Reynolds is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he graduated high school and then went on to attend Wartburg College in Waverly, IA.  Jackson graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Religion and minor in Leadership.  During 2020-2021 school year he attended Wartburg Theological Seminary, completing the intial segment for candidacy towards ordination in the ELCA.  With support from his family and WTS professors he began stufy for the Masters in Divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ, graduating this spring 2024.  His study concentrations at Princeton were Lutheran Studies and Theology, Ecology and Faith Formation.  He has came to Messiah to complete his internship, after which he will be ready to pursue ordination.

Jackson is looking most forward to preaching and honing the gift of delivering in a meaningful way what he has learned in his Biblical and theological studies.  He says that he is a "go with the flow" type of person.  Jackson has had some exciting travels overseas.  He got to go hot air baloon flying over Turkey and loved it.  He also got to go floating in the Dead Sea during his travels of the Holy Land.

We are honored to have Vicar Jackson with us and getting to know him better.  Messiah is also looking forward to hearing him preach.
